is only a steel grille insert, no factory surround is included with the
16 gauge CNC laser cut and formed cold rolled
steel, The insert is formed on the brake, along with a 5052 aluminum
center bar and backing plate to save weight. All formed sections are very tight
with no gap and fully Tig fusion welded on the front seam, then
polished smooth. We don't stop there! After the grilles are polished
to a near mirror finish, they then are blasted to a sandpaper finish and coated
with a black texture Polyarmor Thermoplastic powder coating. This is matte
black with a 36% gloss level, with a slight textured finish and is the standard
powder on all our products.
There is no required cutting or drilling of the factory parts (in some
cases reinforcements to the plastic might be needed). Simply remove
the stock insert and replace it with the new one and bolt it down with the
supplied black coated stainless machine Torx screws.

We also have a few reports in extreme cold weather that the factory plastic surround
was getting a stress crack from plastic shrinkage. Additional steps may be
needed to prevent this from happening.
There are 2 little notches in the plastic that is a fatigue point, which may
need to be reinforced from the back side to support the insert. This is more
so in extremely cold areas of the country.

The grille is pushing 14lbs, very ridged from its design and wont
flex like the plastic. If off roading and/or hard driving, the plastic can
fatigue, as well causing the plastic clips that mount the grille to break.
